Maurizio Fiorino, Crotone 1984. Having spent his adolescence in Calabria, Maurizio moved to Bologna to study, in order: Political Science, Literature and Philosophy, and lastly DAMS, before Cinema and then Art. He didn’t graduate in any of them and, immediately after moving to New York – in the McKibbin St Lofts, East Brooklyn, he began studying at the International Centre of Photography. He started collaborating with Annie Leibovitz and exhibited his photographs at the Leslie Lohman Museum and at Chair and the Maiden Gallery. In 2014 he published his debut novel, Amodio, through Gallucci, the story of a young boxer, son of a ‘ndrangheta boss, set in his hometown.
